Three people in my circle have a birthday on Dec 09. How curious and fascinating and coincidental!

I've been doing a Deep Purge of my bedroom lately, and right now I have seven grocery bags of clothes+shoes that are sitting on my floor, ready to be carted off to the local Savers. It's crazy, and awesome, having space in my closet and my dresser drawers. And when I go looking for something to wear, every piece in there is actually something I want to put on!

Yeah, I have a bad habit of accumulating stuff. I'm proud of myself for running with whatever motivation bit me in the ass. I still have a few more drawers to go. But it got to the point where like...I don't wear spaghetti straps anymore. I have so many pants that don't fit me, and keeping them as motivation is stupid. It's been two years and they're just taking up space. I have some stuff that feels too juvenile these days, and it's ADORABLE, but if I don't put it on my body, what's it doing here? So, yes. Goodbye.

Now I want to go buy a few nice blouses. I have a gift card to Nordstrom, so that's the plan.

ALSO, it's pomegranate season, guys! How many pomegranates has Aeslis eaten in the last month? So many pomegranates. Om nom nom!

I would eat more pomegranates if I could figure out how to do it without turning my kitchen into Dexter's kill room.

I feel like if I try doing it under water, I'm just going to end up recreating Jaws instead!

I envy your abundance of pomegranates! One thing I don't get at all about Japan is how when I lived out in the countryside, I would see all these pomegranate trees in people's yards, and I would see all these pomegranate fruits on the ground or sometimes dried out and used as autumnal decorations, but I never saw anyone actually eating them, and at the supermarket the only pomegranates they ever had for sale (for maybe two weeks tops) were all imported from the U.S and going for like three hundred yen a piece. When I asked my neighbors why Japanese farmers didn't just sell their own, they were like, "oh, I think those supermarket pomegranates are a different kind from ours, I don't think anyone would want to buy or eat this kind." Me! I would want to eat them!

My bf in hs was always born Dec 9th. I worked at an answering service and took down dates of birth all day while I was in college and I am convinced there are more people born the 8th-13th than other days in the month.

This is disproven by statistics. Probably.

My mom's a hoarder and my way of rebelling is to look at every item that's not garbage and that's been hanging around. I ask myself is it happy here? Is it fulfilling it's life's purpose?

If that book isn't ever being read again, it's going to be so sad.

If those pants aren't going to protect someone's legs from the bitter cold or the sun's damaging rays or whatever motivates a pair of pants to get up in the morning... it's a sad pair of pants.

This is difficult when said pants are stained or ripped and, well, I'll just wear them around the house...

Because garbage pants are also very sad pants.

That purge feeling is SO satisfying. All of this stuff that is not useful - begone!

I had pomegranate in my yogurt the other day and it was delicious. I actually find seeding them to be kind of therapeutic.

I need to do another clothing purge. Especially the stuff that doesn't fit. If I ever get to that size again, I think I'd just assume get new stuff anyway. So I know these feelings.

I love going through my wardrobe and sorting the clothes into keep and sell and donate piles. I'm left with a functional wardrobe where I like all the clothes and all the clothes fit me well. I do this about once a year. Where do all those ugly, ill-fitting clothes come from? It's a mystery.

Do you eat the pomegranate seeds as is or do you put them in other foods?

I did a wardrobe purge what feels like not that long ago, but I've half-admitted to myself that I should do it again, more aggressively this time. ([personal profile] scruloose and I should really tackle clearing out all manner of stuff, for lo, we have Too Much Stuff. But there's so much else that needs doing. >.<)

Clearing Closet Space is an oddly satisfying task! (I should do that as well.... *eyes tons of ass old clothes I never wore and never wil be wearing*)

Blouses are always a good investment. And I heard only good stuff about the Nordstrom brand so, go for it?!

Congrats on the stuff purge! I am in the midst of doing that, myself.
