Honestly, I think a large part of the difficulty of writing Jun is that he's such an adult. He has his dork moments, but usually he's as serious and steady as everyone says he is. There's an air of childishness around Nino, Aiba, and Ohno - even Sho is a social animal, which probably makes it easier for younger writers to identify with him. No such thing with Jun, who drinks wine alone in his apartment and talks aloud to himself like my Grandma does.
So people are cautious about writing Jun and when they do write him, they capitalise on the aspect of him being snarky because that's the easiest thing to do. It's a shame, because I think writing someone as neurotic, detailed and careful as he is makes a good challenge.
